HALI Waistcoat Knitting Pattern
A classic, minimal garter stitch waistcoat.
This waistcoat is knit from the hem upwards to the shoulders in garter stitch. The round hem is first shaped with short rows after which the body is knit to the armpits and then divided into the back and two front pieces, then worked further in sections, and finally connected at the shoulders.
HALI means ‘a hug’ in Finnish.
Gauge: 15 ST x 26 ROWS = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch.
Sizes available: XS/S (M/L) XL/XXL
The sizes correspond to actual bust measurements of approximately
85-90 (95-105) and 110-120 cm.
Finished measurements:
bust: 90 (100) 115 cm
length centre back: 53 (56) 58 cm
MATERIALS
Suggested yarn: 250 (300) 350 grams / 500 (600) 700 meters of Atelier Sarah Jane’s naturally dyed, worsted weight Texelaar wool
Suggested needles: 5-6mm 60-80 cm long circular knitting needles and an additional needle for the kitchener’s stitch.
